Ruairi Friel

Ruairi Friel is a young guitarist who hails from the Fanad peninsula, Co. Donegal. He has been playing guitar for 11 years and playing professionally on his own and with various successful bands for most of that time. Ruairi has been teaching adults and children to play guitar with great success for over 5 years.  Ruairi's  classes cater for all styles and levels of ability.

Paul Harrigan - Uileann Pipes, Piano Accordion, Fiddle, Banjo and Mandolin

Paul Harrigan is from the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal. Born into a musical family, he has the distinction of being All-Ireland champion on both the Uilleann Pipes and the accordion. Now living in Letterkenny, Paul is currently undertaking a BMus with the University of Ulster. Paul has been teaching music for the past fifteen years and has tutored with the University of Limerick, providing master classes on both uilleann pipes and piano accordion for the MA in performance and the BA in traditional music and dance.

Louise McKinney - Singing, Tin Whistle, Flute and Fiddle

Louise McKinney is a young traditional flute player from Tooban.  She studied flute with Marcas Ó’Murchú, tin whistle with Kate Forde and fiddle with Seamus Gibson.  She came 2nd in the All-Ireland traditional Irish flute competition in 2006 and she held the All-Ireland title in tin whistle for 5 years from 1999-2004.  Louise is also an accomplished sean-nós singer and was the 2005 and 2006 All-Ireland champion.  Louise has appeared on Rté television’s Nationwide programme and was featured on Rté radio’s Ceili House programme.  She has also played on Rté Raidió na Gaeltachta. Louise has recently completed her BMus Degree and currently studying for her Masters in Music at University of Ulster, Magee Campus.

Tom Byrne - Button Accordion and Harmonica

Tom Byrne is an outstanding teacher and performer. Tom was born in Cheshire, England of Donegal parents and he relocated to Buncrana in the early ninties and has forged a well earned reputation as an excellent teacher. Tom grew up in a household rich in Donegal musical heritage and was strongly influenced by his father Paddy, a fine fiddle player and composer of traditional songs and tunes. Tom plays accordian and Harmonica and in August 2009 released a very successful first album to great critical acclaim.  Tom was accompanied on this album by the fiddle player Frankie Gavin. Patrick McBride - Button Accordion, Whistle

Patrick has been actively involved in music for over 30years. He is particularly good with children and beginners having studied and worked with the master, Brendan Mulkere in London and he has been the backbone of the Mulroy Music lessons programme since its inception 3 years ago.
